Clouds, Cafés & Cozy Corners in Manali – A Monsoon Escape

Manali has a way of holding you — gently, like mist clinging to pine trees. I came here chasing cooler air, hot cups of coffee, and the kind of silence that only mountains can give. But what I found was something even softer — wildflower-laced paths, unexpected conversations with locals, and the calm rhythm of rain tapping against wooden windows.

🛏️ Where I Stayed

Shivadya Resort, near Naggar – Nestled between apple orchards and pine forests, this boutique stay felt more like a mountain home. Wooden interiors, warm throws, and a balcony view straight out of a storybook.

☕ Sips & Slow Mornings – My Favorite Cafés

  • Café 1947 (Old Manali)
Right by the river, this café has the best hot chocolate and indie music playlist. Think fairy lights and rainy window seats.
  • Drifter’s Café
Pancakes, board games, and a fire-lit corner. Perfect for rainy days and solo journaling.
  • Renaissance Café
For the aesthetic lovers. Rustic interiors, rooftop views, and pasta that tastes like home.

🌲 Nature Walks & Little Adventures

  • Jogini Waterfall Trail – A 45-min easy hike with views, greenery, and light drizzle magic.
  • Naggar Castle & Roadside Views – Explore art galleries and sip chai with a view of the valley.
  • Beas Riverside Strolls – Best done at sunrise when the air is still and the mist hangs low.

🧥 What I Packed for Monsoon in Manali

  • Light raincoat & waterproof boots (slippery trails!)
  • Knit sweaters & thermals for chilly evenings
  • Quick-dry leggings & a sturdy umbrella
  • A good book and your favorite tea sachets — trust me

✨ Little Moments That Stayed With Me

  • That evening at a local dhaba where thunder rolled outside and the parathas were hot off the tandoor
  • Watching the fog roll in over the hills, one layer at a time
  • Conversations with a local grandma who shared stories about snowfall seasons past

🌸 Would I Go Back?

Yes — but I wouldn’t wait for a perfect plan.
Manali is best experienced when you go with soft expectations and a slow heart. It’s not just a mountain town — it’s a feeling. One that lingers long after the trip ends.

Adventures in Summer – From Cool Breezes to Wild Heartbeats

Summer isn’t just a season — it’s a mood. It’s waking up to sunlit windows, throwing a backpack together, and chasing the kind of days that leave your skin sun-kissed and your heart a little fuller. This year, I promised myself one thing: say “yes” to more adventure. Not just the big-ticket kind — but the small, soul-filling moments too.

🏞️ Paragliding Over Bir Billing – Flying into the Sky

There’s a quiet fear before you run off a cliff strapped to a parachute — but the moment you’re in the air, it’s pure magic. The Dhauladhar range unfolds beneath you, villages become tiny dots, and the wind does all the talking. If there’s one thing that made me feel truly alive this summer, it was this.
💡 Tip: Go early in the morning for calmer winds and softer skies. And yes, get the GoPro footage — you’ll want to relive it.

🚵‍♀️ Cycling Through Goa’s Backroads – Salt Air & Coconut Trees

While everyone else was chasing the beach, I took a different route. A rented cycle, a Spotify playlist in one ear, and the winding village paths of South Goa. I passed by sleepy bakeries, children playing football barefoot, and old Portuguese homes dappled with bougainvillea.
Sometimes adventure is quiet — and it smells like salt, sweat, and mangoes.

🛶 Kayaking in Alleppey – Golden Light & Glassy Water

The backwaters during golden hour are surreal. Paddling through palm-lined canals, I found stillness in the middle of motion. Every ripple, every bird call, every distant temple bell felt like a lullaby wrapped in adventure.

🧗‍♀️ Cliff-Jumping in Rishikesh – One Step, Infinite Thrill

The water was cold, the jump was high, and my heart? Racing.
But the second I leapt — it felt like freedom. If you’re ever in Rishikesh, add cliff-jumping near the Ganges to your list. It’s not just a rush, it’s a memory-maker.

🌄 Trekking to Triund – A Sky Full of Stars

We started the climb with laughter and ended it wrapped in blankets under constellations. There’s something sacred about reaching a summit just before sunset and watching the mountains slowly turn to silhouettes.

🧳 Mini Adventure Packing List – What I Never Travel Without

  • Portable charger (because adventure drains battery fast!)
  • Dry bags & ziplocks (for phones, snacks, anything that might get wet)
  • A Polaroid camera or journal for memory-keeping
  • Energy bars, extra socks & sunscreen
  • A brave heart and open mind (cheesy but true!)

🌻 What Summer Taught Me

Adventures don’t always need plane tickets.
Sometimes they’re found in a last-minute road trip, a wrong turn that leads to a beautiful overlook, or a quiet trail with no name. Summer reminds us to explore, but also to feel — fully, wildly, softly.
